New Mexico does not license or certify personal property appraisers. Be aware that many appraisers need only take a weekend course to get an association’s certification. No testing of knowledge is required. ASA members are required to have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the appraising field plus years of college course work in ethics, USPAP, appraisal theory and connoisseurship of their area of expertise. We have over 50 years combined experience in appraisal knowledge.
